Real Madrid Superstar Justifies Luka Modrić’s Ballon d’Or Selection Ahead of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo

In 2018, Luka Modrić surpassed Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to take his place at the top of the footballing world. Ronaldo and Messi have been two of the greatest football players for over a decade.
Apart from them, no other footballer got their hands on the Ballon d’Or trophy from 2008 to 2017. But Luka Modrić broke this streak in 2018 by delivering one masterclass after another.
Recently, his Real Madrid teammate Eduardo Camavinga praised Modrić. Camavinga noted why Modrić deserves to be a Ballon d’Or winner.

In an interview with France Football, Eduardo Camavinga said, “Luka, he has an instinct, a vision. He is not a Ballon d’Or [winner] for no reason.”
“He throws passes to you with the outside of his boot, pff… If I try those things, I’ll break my ankle. He attacks as much as he defends, so I’m inspired by the way he moves,” the young Real Madrid midfielder added. [H/T: Marca]
At 36 years of age, Modrić is moving towards the last few years of his football career. And soon the young Eduardo Camavinga might have to take his place in Real Madrid’s midfield.
All Real Madrid fans will hope that Camavinga can follow in Modrić‘s footsteps. And who knows, in some years’ time, Camavinga can also win the Ballon d’Or, just like Luka Modrić.
