Real Madrid had one of the best campaigns in the history of the Champions League last season. They won the title after three highly unlikely comebacks in the knockout stages, and both Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr were key in those comebacks.

It wasn’t just those two who got the highlights as Luka Modric turned the clock back and helped his team reach the final with his performances. However, it was Vinicius who sealed the deal by scoring the only goal in the final between Madrid and Liverpool.

The Brazilian winger had a similar impact in La Liga as his partnership with Karim Benzema helped the Los Blancos wrap up the title relatively early.

The Champions League is not enough

Regardless, things weren’t so good just one year ago, as Vinicius was heavily criticised for his attacking output. The winger worked on his game and came back stronger to become one of the best wingers on the planet.

However, football isn’t his only focus as the Brazilian also owns a charity called Instituto Vini Jr. They recently held an event and raised around $125,000 for charity. Speaking at the event, Vinicius revealed that this achievement was incredibly important for him.

For me, celebrating the first anniversary of my charity and everything we’re doing is just as important as scoring in the Champions League final. It’s been a really special season and now I want more,” Vinicius said.

I’ve always dreamed of fulfilling my family’s dream of helping those who are in as much need as I was when I was little. It’s only been a year since we started our work at the Instituto Vini Jr, but we’re already helping a lot of people,” he added.
