Shaquille O’Neal Admits He Once Tried to Extort $1 Million From David Beckham, Here’s Why

David Beckham is one of the biggest stars in the world of football. However, he is even more popular in the USA after his stint in the MLS and is now a famous celebrity with several connections in Hollywood. One of those friends has turned out to be NBA legend, Shaquille O’Neal.

The American basketball player is another athlete who has now become a famous celebrity, with several cameos in movies and talk shows. It was one of his talk show appearances on James Corden that he revealed an altercation that he had with the Manchester United legend.

O’Neal revealed the story of how he tried to extort David Beckham after finding his wallet on a walk. He joked about how he usually takes the money out of all wallets that he finds and throws them away afterwards.

I was walking one day in Beverly Hills and I found a wallet. Usually, when I find wallets, I just take out all the money out and just throw them. But this was a nice wallet, so I look. And it said David Beckham, I was like, ‘Can’t be!’ And I looked at the ID and it was David Beckham,” O’Neal said.

David Beckham almost lost a million dollars

Shaq said that he didn’t want to give the wallet to the front desk and decided to track Beckham down. He then decided to play a prank on him and asked Beckham to pay a million dollars if he wanted the wallet back in his possession.

So, I didn’t want to just give it to the front desk, so I tracked him down. I was like, David. Well, no, first I played a joke on him. I have your wallet. I have your wallet. It’s going to cost you a million dollars getting it back.’ But he knew it was me. [Beckham said] ‘Shaq, stop playing.’ I was like, ‘Dave, I found your wallet,’ and he came and picked it up,” O’Neal concluded.

What a fun story! Shaq being Shaq in all his might can never not be entertaining.
