The USMNT has a lot of young talent and it would be all on showcase when the World Cup comes around in November. However, Gregg Berhalter can only take a 25-man squad, which means that a lot of young stars would miss out on the chance to go to Qatar.

One of those young stars is Espanyol academy star Luca Koleosho. Still only 17, Koleosho moved to Spain without his parents when he was just 11. Notably, Koleosho was born in the USA and can represent the USMNT. However, the young star has a Nigerian father and an Italian-Canadian mother. Hence, he’s allowed to represent any of those four countries that he wants.

Luca Koleosho and his La Liga debut

However, his decision will have to be sped up as national teams will start noticing his talent. Canada recently called him up in their 25-man squad for their matches in the Nations League. Koleosho did accept the call-up, and it has been a very exciting month for the youngster.

The winger made his La Liga debut for Espanyol and looked really good when he came on. He also became the youngest player to play in La Liga with American origins. Now that the club season is over, his focus will turn toward selecting a national team.
