In recent years, Manchester City have truly proven that they are one of the biggest clubs in the world. Pep Guardiola’s men have completely dominated the competition domestically, and Argentinian striker Sergio Aguero played a huge role in that.
The former Atletico Madrid star stayed at City for over 10 years and became a fan favorite at the club. His iconic last-minute winner against Queens Park Rangers remains the greatest goal in the history of the Premier League. Manchester City’s UCL defeat against Real Madrid
Things haven’t been much better for City either ever since Aguero’s departure. He was the only player at the club who was an out-and-out striker, and when he left, City lost that extra edge. That didn’t affect them much in the league as Guardiola’s men seem favorites to win the title this season.

However, it was apparent in their UCL semi-final tie against Real Madrid. They were just minutes away from victory before Rodrygo scored two late goals to take the tie to extra time. Karim Benzema finished the comeback after slotting a penalty past Ederson.
