The World Cup is finally back again and so is the USMNT. After missing out on the 2018 edition of the tournament, the Americans have made it back to the biggest stage in the world of football and will make no mistakes in making it their own.

Gregg Berhalter’s men will come in with a lot of hope riding on their shoulders. The USMNT manager will have the responsibility of choosing his best squad and knowing who to start. However, that looks more difficult by the day as more players start performing for club and country.

Heracles Almelo midfielder Luca de la Torre was the latest star to do so as he showed his class in the USMNT’s match against Grenada.

De la Torre set to leave his club

The silky midfielder has put in a great shift for the USMNT whenever he has played and is still only 24. He took his performances up another notch this season for his club Heracles, but it wasn’t enough to save the club from relegation.

However, in an interview with ESPN, he revealed that he has an agreement with Heracles to leave the club in the transfer window. Several teams have shown their interest in him, and he won’t be short of suitors.

Footballing-wise, looking back, it really paid off. I played a lot of minutes in a really good league, and I put myself back into the picture for the national team, which was the whole point of making that move in my career,” de la Torre said.
