Manchester United have had a topsy-turvy season so far with various low and high points. They are finally on a good run again in the Premier League and have got their forwards firing again. However, Cristiano Ronaldo hasn’t had the best time at the club.

Ronaldo re-joined United amidst much fanfare, and while he has been the club’s top scorer in the Premier League (along with international teammate Bruno Fernandes), he hasn’t matched his high standards. Moreover, there have been a few problems in the dressing room as well, given Ronaldo’s stature in the world of football.

Ralf Rangnick talks about the captain’s armband

United manager Ralf Rangnick had reportedly asked Ronaldo to mentor the young players in the squad. This started a few rumors about United’s captain Harry Maguire not being happy with Ronaldo’s presence, and also a few extreme ones about Rangnick giving the captain’s armband to Maguire.

However, the German manager came forward to decline any possibility of taking the captain’s armband away from Maguire and revealed that the Englishman will be the captain of the club till the end of the season. Additionally, he didn’t specify if that would change next season and said that it didn’t matter.
