Lionel Messi is one of the most famous athletes on the planet. Along with Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo, he is considered to be the greatest player of all time, and hence, anything related to him will get a lot of eyeballs, even if it’s his pet dog.

Messi got his pet dog, Hulk, sometime around 2016, and he has now become one of the most famous dogs on the planet. Hulk is a Dogue de Bordeaux, also known as a Bordeaux Mastiff or French Mastiff.

Dogs of this breed are known for their incredible size and strength. Hulk is no exception, and like his namesake in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he has grown to an incredible size.

French Mastiffs: their size, lifespan, and cost

French Mastiffs were previously used as guard dogs but were also involved in pulling cargo. They have a very distinct coat, with a fawn color.

Hulk is now five years old and is living a healthy life. However, French Mastiffs statistically have a lifespan of 5 to 8 years. Several dogs do make it past that age, most notably the acting dog who played Hooch in the 1989 film, Turner and Hooch, made it to the age of 14.

An average male French Mastiff grows to 24 inches and weighs at least 110 pounds. The puppies can cost around $2000 dollars on average in the USA.

French Mastiffs are also incredibly adaptable, and hence Hulk must be enjoying his time in France.
