USMNT star Christian Pulisic has been in fantastic form for his country in the past few games. He scored a wonderful hat-trick in USA’s World Cup qualifier against Panama and ensured that his nation would qualify for the World Cup in Qatar barring a huge disaster.

However, his performances for Chelsea FC haven’t been on the same level. Pulisic joined Chelsea in 2019, and since then, he has failed to establish himself in the first team. There have been several flashes of brilliance, like his perfect hat-trick for the club in the Premier League, but it hasn’t been enough.

Chelsea paid around 60 million euros to Dortmund to sign the American star, and Pulisic hasn’t justified his price tag yet.

Christian Pulisic and his market value

All of this can be visibly inferred if you look at Pulisic’s transfer market value over the years. According to TransferMarkt, Pulisic’s current market value is 45 million euros. It’s a drop from the 50 million valuations that he got from the website in June 2021, and the drops have been constant for a while.

His peak market value was 60 million euros, which he first reached in March 2019, at the age of 20. His value remained more or less static till March 2021, until he saw his value drop by a massive 10 million euros.

However, the market values accurately depict his time at the club as Pulisic has struggled a lot with injury issues during his three years at Chelsea.

Pulisic’s injury troubles at Chelsea FC

In three years, Pulisic has played 105 games for Chelsea, much lesser than he could’ve. Moreover, in those 105 games, the American forward has only managed to score 23 goals. He does have 18 assists too, but his numbers have been underwhelming at the club.

As a result, a few clubs have been interested in signing him in the summer, but it’s yet to be seen if Chelsea will let him go. Juventus and Liverpool have been linked to the 23-year-old forward, but it hasn’t materialized into anything yet.
