“You Never Called Back”: Canada Star Alphonso Davies Shoots at McDonald’s for Once Rejecting Him

Playing football professionally is a dream for many people around the world. However, very few can accomplish it, and also be remarkably good at it, like FC Bayern Munich superstar Alphonso Davies. Rising quickly through the ranks, the Canadian left-back has proven to be one of the best players in his position over the last three seasons.
Davis has seen a meteoric rise to the top ever since his National team debut in 2017. However, it wasn’t all that easy in the beginning. Recently, he revealed that back in the day, there was a time when McDonald’s rejected his job application.

“Hey McDonald’s, if you watch me play and win trophies, I want to remind you that a few years ago I applied to one of your restaurants. But you never called me back,” the Canadian stated.

Davies has had a hugely successful time at Bayern Munich ever since his move in 2019. He won the double with the Bundesliga side in the 2019-20 season as the Germans won the UEFA Champions League title along with the league title.

That was also his first year in the Bundesliga, and Davies was handed the “Rookie of the Year” award for his performances. He is the first Canadian to win the UEFA Champions League crown.

Davies played his first match for Edmonton, Canada after leaving his home to develop as a footballer. Recently, he played as a striker alongside Jonathan David, but didn’t do too well in the match against Costa Rica. Nevertheless, these are early days for Davies in the 2021-22 season, and surely, he will soon shine at the World Cup Qualifiers.

On the other hand, things cannot get any better for his club career. Winning everything with Bayern Munich, Davies is having a considerably good season. It’ll be interesting to see if he keeps up with his performances and takes his team to Qatar next year.
