Manchester United fans went wild after Marcus Rashford scored a last-gasp winner for the club against West Ham United. The club climbed to fourth place in the table temporarily, but the win has deeper implications after the altercation between Cristiano Ronaldo and Ralf Rangnick.

Ronaldo was subbed off in United’s last Premier League match against Brentford, and the Portuguese superstar wasn’t happy about it at all. United did go on to win the match by a scoreline of 3-1, with all three goals being scored by United academy graduates.

Cristiano Ronaldo wanted Rangnick to sub a youngster off

After the match against Brentford, United manager Ralf Rangnick revealed that Ronaldo wanted him to sub a youngster off and not him. However, Rangnick didn’t agree with that and said in another interview that the team is more important than any single player.

While Marcus Rashford scored the 3rd goal in that match against Brentford, the English star scored again this time around. He came on in the second half after being benched for academy graduate Anthony Elanga and tapped the ball in from three yards out.

In the end, the goal was vital for United’s Premier League campaign and the youngsters are performing well for the club. Rangnick’s substitutions are doing the trick and if Marcus Rashford finds his form back, United can go a long way this season, and so will Cristiano Ronaldo.

United have won back-to-back matches now, and the club needs to keep the momentum going in their next match against Burnley. They have climbed to fourth place in the Premier League table, and have a game in hand over third-placed Chelsea, who are 6 points away.

However, both the North London clubs, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur can catch United and Spurs have three games in hand, with only two points to cover. On the other hand, Arsenal need are three points behind United and have three games in hand. It’ll be interesting to see how the top four will shape up at the end of the season.
