While Aston Villa are yet to formally respond to City’s offer – which was made on Friday – it is understood they are now willing to part ways with their captain. Now it’s up to the England star who’ll decide if he wants to play under Pep Guardiola.

However, all the hints point to him being open to the move. Grealish recently deleted the tweets he made about supporting City’s arch-rivals United as a kid.

He’ll also see a rise in his wages at City. The Birmingham man was also linked with a move to Manchester United last season, but it all fizzled out.

This isn’t the only big-money move Manchester City is going for, as they have also put in a £100m bid for Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane.

The English captain is undoubtedly the best striker in the league and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would want to keep him at all costs. Spurs rejected City’s bid, and it’s hard to see them budging unless and until City improves their bid to over £170m.

This will be a huge transfer for the club as they try to get their hands on the elusive UEFA Champions League crown. Grealish will surely help them get there as the attacking midfielder was one of the best players in the league for Aston Villa last season.
