The United States men’s national team has given home fans plenty to cheer about at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Victories over Paraguay and Australia secured the USMNT a place in the knockout stage and fueled growing belief around a squad enjoying one of the best starts in the program’s history. As excitement around the team’s chances continued to build, YouTube star MrBeast weighed in with a bold proposal should the Americans go on to lift the trophy.
“If USA wins the World Cup WE CALLING IT SOCCER FOREVER! FULL STOP PERIOD,” Mr.Beast posted on his X account.
The optimism surrounding Mauricio Pochettino’s side is understandable.
The Americans opened their campaign with a 4-1 win over Paraguay at Los Angeles Stadium before defeating Australia 2-0 in Seattle four days later. The victories marked the first time the United States has won consecutive men’s World Cup matches since 1930 and secured a place in the Round of 32 with one group-stage fixture still to play.
What made the win over Australia even more significant was that it came without captain Christian Pulisic, who continues to recover from a calf injury. Folarin Balogun helped force an own goal in the 11th minute before Alex Freeman doubled the lead just before halftime, finishing off a move that began with Sergiño Dest.

Beyond the results themselves, the USMNT has shown signs of a team growing in confidence. Against Australia, the Americans controlled 62 percent of possession and completed nearly 450 passes, more than twice as many as their opponents.
“The versatility of this team is insane, to be honest,” midfielder Tyler Adams said after the match. “There are guys that aren’t playing right now that can play a major role. There’s a selflessness to the team.”
Veteran defender and captain Tim Ream echoed that sentiment.
“We’re enjoying every moment together,” Ream said. “Every goal, every block, every set play, just everything we’re doing is together. That’s how we create the momentum.”
The United States has already secured top spot in Group D and will conclude the group stage against Türkiye on June 25 at Los Angeles Stadium. While players have acknowledged the growing excitement around the team, they have been quick to stress that their focus remains firmly on the next challenge.
“I think we need to be excited,” Adams said. “But we kind of need to put a 24-hour rule on things. When it’s time to work, we got to go back to work.”
Mr.Beast’s post gained plenty of traction, amassing more than 8 million views (at the time of writing), over 67,000 likes, and nearly 11k fans weighing in on the long-running “soccer versus football” debate. Mind you, the responses were not entirely pleasant.
Fans Were Quick to Remind him What Round of 32 Actually Means
“Highly doubt that the USA will win, but let’s just wait and see,” one fan wrote, choosing measured skepticism over outright mockery. This was one of the nicer responses to the post that kept on getting increasingly cruel.
“Bro thinks they can go past round of 16 😭😂 even if you deploy ICE to deport all players from other countries, you won’t,” read one of the more cutting responses, leaning into the tournament’s larger political backdrop for extra bite.
“USA and winning the World Cup in the same sentence? 😭😭😭” wrote another, seemingly unable to process the two concepts’ coexistence.
One fan attempted to completely flip the bet. “If you don’t win it, you call it ‘football’ forever. Deal?” they wrote, daring Mr. Beast to put something on the line in the opposite direction as well.
And one response veered between sympathy and ridicule. “You’re allowed to dream, but believe me, this dream is a funny one 😂.”
The irony, of course, is that the USMNT’s current form gives Mr. Beast a lot of reasons to be optimistic. Two wins, six points, a group title, and a knockout berth are no small accomplishments. The USMNT is flying high, and they haven’t met a so-called powerhouse nation in the World Cup yet. It remains to be seen how they play their “soccer” against the strongest nations competing.
