Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world and also has the biggest fanbase. That particular fanbase will be very happy right now as the club is finally coming back to the heights they are supposed to be reaching in terms of their transfer targets, Raphael Varane being key.

The English club has signed young English winger Jadon Sancho in a big-money move that they were planning for over a year and have followed it up with the transfer of 28-year-old Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, who is one of the best center-backs in the world.

United’s manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, talked about the signing of Varane in an interview with Sky Sports. “Of course, very happy that we’ve managed to get a deal with Real Madrid.

“The medical should hopefully be OK, and he’s a proven winner. He’s a player we’ve followed for many, many years,” Ole said.

He also talked about United’s interest in Varane when he was just 18, and Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge of the club. The Norwegian showed his happiness with the club’s transfer business and talked up Varane’s personality.

I know Sir Alex (Ferguson) was very, very close to signing him, so this time around, we’ve got him at the other end of his career.

“He’s proved over his whole career what a good person he is, first of all, professional, and he’s won what there is to win. I’m very happy getting both our players in,” he said.
