Daniil Medvedev sees the lighter side of the mammoth test on Sunday

After winning the match, Medvedev spoke about his next opponent, Rafael Nadal, who he will play in the final of the Australian Open 2022. Interestingly, he was the man who stopped Djokovic from winning the 21st Grand Slam title and is in a similar position to doing to same to Rafa.

Reflecting on the scenario, the 25-year-old player stated, “What is funny is that I’m going to play again someone who’s going for the 21st Grand Slam. I guess last time Rafa was watching near the TV and I think Novak will be watching this one also.”

However, Nadal has already played Daniil once in a Grand Slam final at the US Open in 2019 and won the battle in a 5-set thriller. Since then, Daniil has improvised immensely and it will be interesting to see how they perform on Sunday.
