Chloe Kim and her honest admission
After her first run, in an interview with NBC Olympics, Chloe Kim revealed that she was actually nervous. Even though she has practiced it a hundred times, the Olympics is the biggest sporting event and any athlete would get a little bit nervous.
“Yeah I was really nervous the first round, cause we are at the Olympics, but I am so happy I put one down,” expressed Chloe.
The snowboarding sensation added that she actually went ahead, took a risk, and tried something different in her second run. This was something she hadn’t even tried before. Naturally, Kim was glad she made it through and qualified.

“I just wanted to mess around with my 2nd run and try something I have never really done before, surprised I made it that far.” Kim herself was surprised that she made it that far while trying something new.
This itself proves that she is flawless when it comes to her sport. Now that she has topped the scoreboard at the qualifiers, this means that she will be performing last at the main event. Moreover, this will give Kim ample time to physically and mentally prepare herself.

What was Kim’s strategy going into the qualifiers?
Kim has however revealed that she went into the qualifiers with one single motive: she just needed to qualify. It didn’t matter if she topped the board or not. She had one run, which she practiced again and again, and at that moment it was all about giving her best.
“I just have a qualifying run that I practiced time and time again so I am just putting that down and just being okay with wherever that puts me, but honestly, the goal for qualifiers is just to make it through.”
