The PS5 launch event had a couple of shockers. More than two dozen game titles were revealed but one that stood up among all had to be the new Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Now, it appears that the details about the game were leaked nine months back by a Redditor.

The new Spider-Man will feature Miles Morales as the lead instead of Peter Parker. The game is an expansion to the 2018s ‘Spider-Man’. 

Do keep in mind that the leaked information could very well be true so if you wish to keep the mystery until the come releases, better skip the next bit.

Redditor leaked Spider-Man: Miles Morales months back

In a Reddit post under username u/throwaway546632, many details regarding the game were revealed. He starts off the post saying he can’t say how or why he has the information but assures Insomniac has been deep down with their next big work. The Reddit user reveals that it’s not a new game but only an expansion, which came to be true.

• There will be at least 9 new suits added. Don’t know what they are
• Norman will not be green goblin yet.
• Venom and green goblin will play big roles in this as the antagonists. Wraith is going to be inside quests along with the black cat. Other villains will be involved as well.
• MJ will not be in the game too heavily due to being in the silver country (I forget the name.) I’m told she’ll call Peter a few times throughout the campaign.
• Peter and Miles will have a hub/bat cave where Octavius industries used to be.
• The game/ standalone DLC will be able to connect to your save so you will be able to transfer suits and gadgets/skills over.

What we can expect

Apart from this he also mentions that he doesn’t know who the main villain is. To the end, he says that production is at good progress and that there’d be an announcement in the summer. 

If all these leaks are legit, then gamers are in for a treat. Fan-favorite storylines, new suits, and improved gameplay make Spider-Man: Miles Morales a convincing buy. 

From the first look trailer, it appears as if most of the information he gave out could be true. Miles Morales was the new Spider-Man and the game was an expansion and not a sequel. For the rest of the info he gave out, we’ll have to wait till we see a full-fledged trailer.

After the game was revealed at the PlayStation 5 event, some confusion ensued. A Sony executive said in an interview that Spider-Man Miles Morales is only an expansion with major enhancements for PS5. This was followed by a statement by Insomniac saying it was a standalone title.

Looks like it will be something in between. It is not a full-fledged sequel to 2018’s Spider-Man but it will be quite different with a ton of new content and storyline.
