Stefanos Tsitsipas Thinks Wimbledon Championships 2019 Will be Different

The ‘Big 3’ of tennis, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic has dominated the tennis world for the last 15 years. Stefanos Tsitsipas revealed in a statement that he desires to end the era of the ‘Big 3’.

These 3 players have certainly dominated the Wimbledon Championships as they shared 14 Wimbledon titles between them in the last 16 years with Roger Federer conquering 8 titles, Novak Djokovic winning 4 and Rafael Nadal winning it twice.

The fans might love the ‘Big 3’ winning grand slam titles, again and again, however, the Greek star, Stefanos Tsitsipas feels that it’s “boring” to see them winning all the time.

Stefanos Tsitsipas desires to see a different player winning the Wimbledon Championships 2019. He said, “I want to be honest. I would love to see something different this year.”

Stefanos Tsitsipas suggested that he can conquer the title at the All England Club, this year. He continued, “Hopefully it can be me, but I think it’s good for the sport to have a bit of variety, something different. It’s boring to see all these guys winning all the time.”

Stefanos Tsitsipas also suggested that they have to work very hard and be on their toes, continuously. He said, “We are responsible for that as well, the new generation, to work hard and believe in ourselves that we can come up with something new, come up with our best games to beat those guys.”

“I think it’s all a matter of character and feeling responsible for what we’re doing on the court. Some people don’t feel responsible. They don’t want to take that big responsibility of going out and winning and saying: “I’m going to overcome all those difficulties and I’m going to beat those guys,” Stefanos Tsitsipas added.

Stefanos Tsitsipas feels confident about beating the top 3 tennis players in the world. He further added, “I feel like I can beat them. My game will be at its finest if some of the Next Gen players believe that, if the younger generations think positively, I think we can achieve a lot of things. I hope this will happen at Wimbledon.”
