American tennis star Serena Williams has been a true ambassador for this elegant sport. The manner in which she carries herself on and off the court is noteworthy. Over the years, she has had her family, comprising of husband Alexis Ohanian and daughter Olympia accompany her.

Recently, Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian and daughter Olympia posted a picture on social media in which Olympia was seen playing chess. However, she is still learning the game.  On the other side, Alexis was eager to get the game going.

The Reddit co-founder tweeted, “Olympia Ohanian is still learning how all the pieces move, but this Armenian Dad wants to get started early.” Over the years, the father and daughter engage in a lot of playful activities like making pancakes.

Serena Williams took a break after the Australian Open

Reflecting on Williams’ season, the veteran has not matched her usual standards this season. After making it to the semifinal in Melbourne, she did not feature in any event until the WTA 1000 event in Rome.

During the entire clay season, she performed below par, losing in the fourth round of the French Open too. Soon after came the Wimbledon Championships, in which, she lost in the opening round match. At 3-3 in the first set, she twisted her ankle and as a result, was forced to withdraw from the tournament.

She has decided to skip the Olympic Games held in Tokyo. The number of restrictions surrounding the event played a huge role in her making that decision. She is expected to compete at the US Open later this month. It will be interesting to see if she can lift her 24th Grand Slam title or not.
