‘Sucker Punched Me’: Months After He Achieved Breakout Star Status, Joel Dahmen’s Scary Ordeal Gets Revealed by 3x PGA Tour Champion

PGA Tour pro Joel Dahmen has been playing golf for a long time now. The 36-year-old turned pro in 2010 and did not look back. Since then he has acquired three wins and two Top ten finishes in the major years. His recently featured in the Netflix golf docu-series, “Full Swing” which has raised the curiosity among fans to know more about him.

Recently fans got to know an interesting anecdote about him by his golfing buddy Nick Taylor. Sharing an interesting story about his wedding, Taylor revealed how Dahmen got his with a black eye. Let’s dig deep to learn how it happened.

American Joel Dahmen and Canadian golfer Nick Taylor are professional golfers now with many credits to their name. However, they are not just teammates. They have a special friendship that goes way back to their college days when they were very young and studied together at the University of Washington. There the golfers were roommates for two years and have maintained a great friendship since then.

Recently Taylor appeared on the GOLF’s Subpar podcast where he gave some valuable insight on how after his and Dahmen’s participation in a brawl proved expensive for them. The host asked Taylor to rank on a scale from one to 10 how responsible was Joel for having a black guy at his wedding.

And Taylor responded, “Oh 11 And it wasn’t at my wedding. Thank God”. The host added that it healed just in time and asked Taylor to reveal how it happened. The Canadian golfer answered, “I still have a scar to show for it. Joel as Joe can do probably said a few words to somebody that didn’t. Didn’t want it. Was that your bachelor party right? And someone came up to him and I tried to stop it and someone else sacrificed me.”

So basically what happened was that Taylor was defending Dahmen in a fight that the latter started but ended up with a bruise himself. But Taylor doesn’t mind since they are no less than best buds.

Nick Taylor appreciates Joel Dahmen’s winning desire

In the same episode, the 3x PGA Tour winner revealed how Dahmen was a great roommate who loves to have fun, and sometimes would sneak a drink here and there. Speaking about the golfer with him Taylor added”He’s self-deprecating, but he wants to win as much as anybody. He’s so self-deprecating. It’s hilarious. That’s just kind of his front.”

Apart from this, Dahmen had to face tough luck on the personal front when in 2010 he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. This was just after his first PGA Tour win It was a tough time that taught him a lot of lessons in life. It also makes him appreciate life and have fun as Taylor had said.
