The battle for supremacy between Twitch and Mixer has raged on since 2016. Twitch has been around for more than a decade and, unsurprisingly, it has the lion’s share of the market. On the other hand, Mixer may just be over 4 years old, but it is certainly gaining ground on its rival. While there remains a massive chasm between the two platforms in terms of viewership, Mixer has a strategy that is working well. It is luring the biggest, most influential streamers to their platform. Reports flying around suggest summit1g may be the next big name to take his business across town.

Mixer may not have the numbers, but it sure does have the names. In the past year, it managed to entice huge names like Ninja and Shroud to their platform, leaving behind astronomical numbers on their twitch channels.

Ninja left behind a whopping 14.5 million followers while shroud left 7 million followers behind when they switched to Mixer. Neither streamer has anything close to those numbers on Mixer, and yet they are happier than ever.

Mixer goes out of its way to ensure streamers want to make base on their turf by allowing them a lot more freedom on the personal branding front. Twitch, on the other hand, likes to keep control.
