The game looks absolutely stunning. Players will play against 35 players playing at the same level. The rules are simple; the last-Mario standing wins. It also allows players to see the progress of their opponents and plan their speed accordingly.

Super Mario Bros. 35 also introduces a system where players can spend their coins. This will activate an ‘item-roulette’ that will give players different power-ups. This will be an interesting addition that will let players take advantage of their position in the game and get an edge over others.

The official announcement on the Nintendo website reads, “Welcome to Super Mario Bros.… with 35 players! In this competitive online battle game, 35 players will compete to be the last Mario standing… or running. Enemies defeated will be sent to other players’ courses, but that also works the other way around! Players can activate special items to try and outpace their opponents.”

This will be a great nostalgic trip for the fans of the original game, with a high-velocity battle royale twist. Although, there was another bit of news regarding that may get mixed reactions. The game will exclusively available to Nintendo Switch Online members. Additionally, it will only be playable until March 31, 2021.

Announcing such a great title and making it a limited-time game seems a little unfair. Nintendo should definitely reconsider their decision here and probably make it a permanent title. The game will be digital-only and will come out on October 1, 2020.
