British tennis star Andy Murray has been one of the best players in over a decade. Formerly a part of the Big Four, he has been a great role model for youngsters and more often leads by example. Besides being a champion on the court, he has taken up issues that have an impact on society, as well.
There have been moments in the past when Murray has spoken on issues like gender equality, mental health, climate change, and more. There was one such moment recently when the three-time Grand Slam winner refused a tempting offer to compete in an exhibition event in Saudi Arabia.

Andy Murray is a man of his principles
One of the prime reasons for refusing to be part of this event, as cited by a source, probably had something to do with Saudi’s alleged poor track record. Andy was offered a tremendous amount of money but the Scot did not hesitate in refusing. Such is the manner in which his morals remain intact.
Taking note of Andy’s decision, former great Martina Navratilova exclaimed, “Well done Andy and I am not surprised at all. Sure am impressed.”
