Adrien Jerome Broner is an American professional boxer and rapper from Cincinnati, Ohio. The eccentric boxer rose to global stardom at a young age thanks to his immense talent. He is a former four-division world champion, having won the WBO super-featherweight title, WBC lightweight title, WBA welterweight title, and the WBA light-welterweight title. He goes by the nickname, ‘The Problem’.

Broner’s father introduced him and his twin brother to boxing at the young age of 6. However, he got into gang-related controversies growing up. Therefore, boxing was the source of redemption for the American.

As an amateur, Broner enjoyed a stunning career amassing a record of 300-19. He picked up the Gold Medal at the National Silver Gloves Championships in 2002 and 2003. Furthermore, he won the Bronze at the 2005 National Junior Olympics.

As a professional, Broner conquered the world on four separate occasions in four different weight classes. He won his first title in the super-featherweight division, beating Vicente Martin Rodriguez to win the WBO title in 2011. Broner followed that up by adding the WBC lightweight belt in 2012, beating Antonio DeMarco.

He moved up in weight again to take on Paulie Malignaggi for the WBA welterweight title. After a fiery build-up, Broner beat the champion to win his third title. He then fought Khabib Allakhverdiev in 2015 for the WBA super-lightweight title and beat him. Thus, at 26 years of age, Broner became a four-time world champion.

The success got to the champion, and he spent two years out of the game. He returned in 2021 and beat Jovanie Santiago.

As of 2021, the former champion has a respectable record of 34-4-1. However, being likened to Floyd Mayweather and often touted as the next invincible boxer, many claim his record does not do justice to his talent. His 34 victories include 24 knockouts.

He was unbeaten in his first 27 fights as a professional boxer. However, he suffered his first defeat at the hands of Marcos Maidana. Other losses have also come to world champions in the form of Shawn Porter, Mikey Garcia, and Manny Pacquiao.
