Irina and Alexander Mikhailovich Zverev were professional tennis players from the Soviet Union. Their career ranking raised to World Number 4 and 175 respectively during the 1990s. Irina was popular for her single-handed backhand. They flew down from the Soviet Union to Germany to take part in a tennis tournament. They were offered jobs at the Uhlenhorster Hockey Club in Hamburg and the landed staying in Hamburg forever.
They got married and gave birth to two tennis players, Mischa and Alexander “Sascha” Zverev. Sascha began playing tennis one year and five months old. As a child, he would refuse to leave the tennis court until he wins the match. He credits his mother for building a strong foundation over his backhand. He focussed on tennis meticulously after his early-round loss at a high-level international junior tournament in Florida. At the age of 20, Alexander Zverev became the youngest player to break into the top 20 rankings after Djokovic. He is currently dating a German model Brenda Patea.
Alexander Zverev had never won an ATP match but however, he reached the last four at International German Open at the age of 17. In 2016 Halle Open semi-finals he defeated Roger Federer and ended his streak of ten consecutive appearances in the final. He won his first career ATP title at the 2016 St. Petersburg Open.
Zverev held the 2018 ATP World Tour Finals crown by defeating Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in the semifinals and finals respectively. It is his biggest title so far in his career. Also in 2018 and 2019, he reached the quarters at the French Open. At the 2019 Laver Cup, Zverev helped Team Europe to clinch the title after defeating Milos Raonic of Team World in the decider. His best Grand Slam performance came at the 2020 Australian Open, reaching the semifinals of the event. He has won 11 ATP titles to date.
In 2017 he rose to the ranking of World Number 3 remarking the highest position in his career.
Alexander Zverev gets his tennis rackets sponsored from Head. He uses their rackets since the time he was 5-years-old. He is the brand ambassador for Richard Mille, a luxury Swiss watch brand. He is endorsing the automobile firm, Peugeot. He wears Adidas and also advertises it. Also the Italian fashion brand Z Zegna has persuaded Zverev to be their ambassador.
