Alistair Overeem got his big debut into the UFC, and he was up against the former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar for his very first fight. 'The Demolition Man' was on fire and finished his opponent with a kick and subsequent punches.

He made history and continued his upward trajectory in the company. A few years later, he earned a title shot against Stipe Miocic, but was unsuccessful.

In 2019, Overeem faced Jairzinho Rozenstruik, who replaced Walt Harris. According to the judges, the match was in favor of Overeem but eventually lost via a late knockout.
