Andrew Wiggins 2021: Net worth, salary and endorsements
Andrew Wiggins is an NBA player for the Golden State Warriors. He was born in Toronto, Ontario on February 23, 1995.
He played college basketball for the Kansas Jayhawks before being drafted with the first overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers, making him just the second Canadian to be taken number one overall in the NBA draft.
A few months later a three-team trade was completed involving the Cavaliers, the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Philadelphia 76ers. Wiggins went to the Minnesota Timberwolves as a part of the deal.
Playing for the Timberwolves, Wiggins went on to win NBA Rookie of the Year award for the 2014–15 season. But after winning this award, he wasn’t able to reach his full potential with the Timberwolves.
Finally, after almost six years, they traded him to the Golden State Warriors in February 2020. Since his arrival at the Chase Center, Wiggins has improved on many fronts. The presence of veteran stars like Stephen Curry and Draymond Green is getting the best out of him, and now he has become a vital part of their team on both ends.
In his six years with the Timberwolves, Wiggins averaged 19.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. His role changed slightly with the Warriors, and now scoring isn’t the only part of his game.
Currently, in the 2020-21 season, Wiggins is averaging 17.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.
After an initial rookie level contract, Wiggins signed a five-year, $147 million extension in 2017 with the Timberwolves. He is earning around $29 million in the 2020-21 season and has two more years left.
Celebrity Net Worth estimates his net worth at $35 million.
Wiggins earns $ 600,000 from endorsements. The brands that he endorses include Fitbit, BioSteel. He sports shoes from Adidas and is yet to have a signature sneaker deal.
