Arch Manning

Arch Manning’s Personal Life and Family Background:

Archibald “Arch” Charles Manning comes from football royalty, carrying the legendary Manning family name on his shoulders. Arch Manning is the eldest son of the American entrepreneur and television host Cooper Manning. Arch’s grandfather, Archie Manning, is an NFL icon who played for the New Orleans Saints for 14 seasons. Arch’s uncles are Elli Manning and Peyton Manning, both of whom are superstar quarterbacks. Arch’s brother, Heid Manning, plays center for the Isadore Newman High School football team, where Arch had been the quarterback before he started playing for the Texas Longhorns.

Arch Manning's High School Career:

2019 Season (Freshman):

He kicked off as the varsity quarterback for Isidore Newman School, making history as the first freshman to do it in over 40 years. In his debut game, Arch took Newman to a sweet 26-point win. Manning wrapped up the season after racking up a staggering 2,509 passing yards and 34 touchdowns.

MaxPreps recognized Arch Manning as the  National Freshman of the Year for his excellent impact on the gridiron as a freshman.

2020 Season (Sophomore):

In 2020, as a sophomore, Manning opened the season with six touchdowns against East Jefferson. In his national television debut, Arch killed it as he threw for two touchdowns and ran in two more. Then came a crazy 76-0 win over Cohen, where he dropped five touchdowns just in the first quarter. The game against Cohen reminded the gridiron world that the Manning blood runs deep in his veins. It was not a smooth sail for Arch Manning; unfortunately, the season ended with a tough playoff loss in the semifinals to Lafayette Christian Academy.

2021 Season (Junior):

Manning’s 2021 season as a junior was another remarkable year that testified to his skills. Throughout the season, he passed for 258 yards and was responsible for all four touchdowns in the season opener. In one game, he went a perfect 11-of-11 for 179 yards and five touchdowns, only to repeat his magic in another, where he, again, went 9-of-9 for 153 yards and five TDs. By the season's end, he stacked up 1,841 passing yards, 26 touchdowns, and four picks, with six more touchdowns on the ground. But history repeated once again as Lafayette Christian Academy stopped Manning’s epic playoff run.

2022 Season (Senior):

Arch Manning was nominated as the captain of the Newman football team for the 2022 season. In his senior year, Arch made headlines when he smashed Uncle Eli Manning's record for career passing yards and Uncle Peyton Manning's record for career touchdowns. Manning also chalked up 356 yards and seven touchdowns in a 59-7 win, dominating over Pearl River.

Arch Manning's College Career:

2023 Season:

Manning mostly redshirted his freshman year at Texas. The five-star quarterback didn’t land the starting job, as Sarkisian chose Quinn Ewers, with Maalik Murphy as the backup. Manning played his first collegiate football game against Texas Tech on November 24, 2023.

The quarterback again came in and hit 2-of-5 passes for 30 yards during a landslide win over the Red Raiders.

Recruiting:

There has not been any player in recent college football history who was as discussed and as hyped as Arch Manning. The Manning football dynasty knew it would not be easy for Arch to go through the whole recruiting season properly with all the media attention that Arch would get. So, the Mannings held Arch back from the media interviews while strictly saying no to “premature” college scholarship offers. During the recruitment cycle, Arch used an off-the-record Instagram account to follow his friends and coaches, including Lane Kiffin, the head coach of Ole Miss football. During the recruiting season, Arch visited multiple universities with the members of his gridiron family. Manning visited SMU, Clemson, LSU, Alabama, Texas, Georgia, Virginia, and the Mannings’ alma mater, Ole Miss. Only after committing to the University of Texas in June 2022 did Arch Manning start appearing for the media interviews.

Arch Manning's EA Sports Deal:

There’s no doubt that the sponsors love Arch Manning, the golden boy from the gridiron royalty. In 2023, Manning signed his biggest NIL sponsorship deal with EA Sports to promote the much-anticipated EA Sports College Football 25.  EA Sports paid Manning between $50,000 and $60,000 to promote EA College Football 25, initially released on July 19. The Longhorns QB additionally received $600 and an exclusive copy of the game as part of the NIL deal that EA Sports worked out with the players.

EA Sports Participation:

In February 2024, EA Sports started approaching players to feature them in the game in exchange for their name, image, and likeness. In no time, EA Sports gathered over 11,000 players who signed an NIL agreement with EA Sports that promised to pay them for featuring in the latest edition of EA Sports College Football 2025. The sweet deal promised all players who exchanged their name, image, and likeness to feature in the game would receive a minimum of $600 and a copy of EA Sports College Football 25. Moreover, EA would also provide opportunities for them to earn money by promoting the game.

Manning’s Football Performance:

Arch Manning did not see significant play time in his freshman year at Texas, even though he put up an impressive 355 yards and 3 touchdowns in the spring game. In his two cameo appearances against Texas Tech and Red Raiders, he went 2 of 5 passes for 30 yards against the Red Raiders. Manning also got to take the final snaps in the Big 12 Championship Game win over Oklahoma State.

Arch Manning is behind Quinn Ewers on the depth chart ahead of the 2024 season. Texas coach Steve Sarkisian, however, has promised the fans that the sophomore Manning will play a crucial role this season.

Manning’s NIL Ventures:

Despite being unable to make an impact in college football, Arch Manning has already built up an impressive portfolio of NIL deals. The star quarterback signed a $50K+ lucrative deal with EA Sports earlier this year, which was his biggest NIL deal so far. In July last year, Manning partnered with the trading card company Panini America for his first name, image, and likeness deal. The Texas quarterback bagged a multiyear deal with Panini to create trading cards. Panini also released an exclusive autographed card featuring the Longhorns QB Manning. Panini America first announced the Panini-Manning deal by releasing an exclusive Prizm black autographed card, which was later auctioned on Panini’s website. The money from the auction went to a Central Texas nonprofit, an organization that helps children live healthier lives, thanks to St. David’s HealthCare and St. David’s Foundation.
