French tennis player Benoit Paire kick-started his career in 2007 at the ITF level before his big break in 2009, a wildcard for the French Open qualifying.

A year later, he began playing at the Challenger level and began making strides.

Benoit made his Grand Slam debut in 2008, at the French Open.

In the same year, he made it as far as the second round during the US Open. He managed to best Rainer Schuttler, before being downed by Feliciano Lopez in five sets.

So far in his career, Benoit Paire has clinched 3 career ATP finals. His first title was in 2015 at the Swedish Open. He followed it up with the Grand Prix Hassan II and the Lyon Open, both in 2019.

He has also won five ATP Challenger titles out of 11 finals, namely Brasov, Salzburg, Le Gosier, Bergamo and Quimper.

On the Grand Slam front, however, the furthest he has ever been is the fourth round, at the French Open 2019, Wimbledon 2017 and 2019, and US Open 2015.

The Frenchman Paire started his season with a final appearance in the ATP 250 event in Auckland. After that, he had a poor season which was almost marred by a controversial tryst with the coronavirus restrictions.

Paire tested positive for the virus just a day before the US Open.

Currently, he is ranked no. 28 in the ATP rankings.
