He won his maiden ATP 250 title at the Croatia Open 2021 after defeating Richard Gasquet in straight sets in the finals.

Interestingly, he defeated World No.3 Stefanos Tsitsipas in the third round of the US Open 2021 and became the youngest player to advance to the fourth round of the Grand Slam since 1989.

As of now, he has won five ITF titles, four ATP Challengers 125 tournaments and an ATP 250 trophy at the Croatia Open 2021.

At the age of 17, the Spaniard qualified for the main draw of the Australian Open 2020- making him the youngest player of the draw. Earlier this year, he became the youngest player to win a match at the Mutua Madrid Open, breaking a 17-year-old record of his idol, Rafael Nadal.

He played some really fantastic tennis at the French Open 2021 and managed to reach the third round of the Grand Slam.

After defeating Tsitsipas at the US Open 2021, he became the youngest player to defeat a top-3 player at the Grand Slam since the computerized rankings were first introduced in 1973. Carlos certainly has a knack for breaking records, long may it continue!
