Personal life of Charles Oliveira

'Do Bronx' was born and brought up in a poor family in a Favela in the tourist town named Guaruja, Sao Paulo, Brazil. He used to play soccer in his childhood days. However, at the age of 7, Oliveira was diagnosed with rheumatic fever and a heart murmur. Back then, the doctors said he couldn't continue playing sports.

'Do Bronx' started off his UFC career in the year 2010. He fought and beat Darren Elkins via armbar submission at UFC Live: Jones vs. Matyushenko. Some of Charles Oliveira's best highlights include defeating fighters like Will Brooks, Clay Guida, Jeremy Stephens, and more.

The Brazilian fighter also had his fair share of losses. Charles Oliveira's losses include going up against elite fighters such as Ricardo Lamas, Max Holloway, Paul Felder, and more.

He fought against Kevin Lee at UFC Fight Night: Lee vs. Oliveira and won the fight via submission. At UFC 256, he secured a dominant unanimous decision win against Tony Ferguson

He made his first title defense against Dustin Poirier. at UFC 269 and won the fight via submission in the 3rd round.

Charles Oliveira was embroiled in a huge controversy just before his title defense at UFC 274. The Brazilian missed weight at 155.5 lbs and was stripped of his title. This means that even if he wins against Justin Gaethje, he won't be the UFC lightweight champion anymore.
