Cody Rhodes is probably the biggest star on the AEW roster, despite its ever-expanding horizons.
“The American Nightmare” tried making it in WWE and had some good initial success. His theme song- “Smoke and Mirrors”, became a hit. However, the writers couldn’t manage to find a role for the Superstar, and he soon had to leave WWE after a career-threatening match against Orton went sideways.
Following his departure from WWE, AEW saw his massive potential and signed him. After giving him a new look and an excellent character, Cody Rhodes looks evergreen. He is also the Executive Vice President of the promotion.
His TNT title reign has elevated his status trough the roof. He is an elite, and no one seems to be able to stop him. Cody Rhodes has truly had a rough journey to the top but has proved his mettle in the ring time and again.
We can only expect more from this man, as his career in AEW continues to flourish.
As of 2021, Cody Rhodes has a net worth of $4 million. He reportedly earns a salary of about $3 million.
Cody Rhodes has been in the business long enough to have had many titles to his name. In WWE, he has two reigns as the Intercontinental Champion which saw him prominently rise to the role of the heel.
Rhodes was also an expert in tag team matches and won the title a combined total of 6 times!
Following his departure from WWE, Rhodes found a better and more frontal role in AEW and has flourished there. With the new look and stronger charisma, Cody quickly rose up the ranks.
He held the AEW TNT Championship twice in 2020, losing it to Brodie Lee and Darby Allin. With some luck, Cody’s 2021 should be a great one.
Cody has a very giving heart and has done his fair share of helping society.
During the pandemic, he released a new line of “American Nightmare” T-shirts to be sold as merchandise and announced that the profits from the sales would be directed to the relief of COVID-19 patients.
In 2017, following a match, Cody auctioned off his boots and donated the money to Austin Pets Alive, an organization that takes care of stray dogs and other pets. He also donated the money that came in form the online Twitch tips. All the dogs that were available for adoption on the show found homes following that match.
In the same year, Rhodes made a deal with a fan who asked how much would it cost to be slammed through thumbtacks. Cody agreed on the condition that the money would be donated to charity and said that he would match the money raised as well. $1,404 ended up being donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital Rhodes and WrestlePro.
