Darren Till is perhaps one of the most entertaining fighters in the UFC. Not only does the Scouser put up exciting matchups, but he also an appealing personality outside the cage. Till is known for being raw and funny on social media. As of January 2021, he is currently ranked at #4 in the UFC middleweight rankings.
Till started as a Muay Thai fighter and later transitioned to Mixed Martial Arts. Born in Liverpool, Till began training in Muay at the early age of 12. Three years later, he turned pro.
Till then found himself in a life-threatening altercation at a party. The Liverpudlian was stabbed in the back twice. This moment changed his life forever.
He traveled to Brazil to stay out of trouble and by the time he was seventeen, Till trained in MMA. After finding success in his amateur MMA career, he turned pro. He racked up eight wins in 2013 alone.
In 2015, Darren Till received a call from the UFC and entered the company with a perfect 12-0 record. He won his first match against Wendell de Oliveira via a brutal TKO win in the second round. His next fight ended in a draw.
Till amassed a record of 17-0 before challenging former welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley. Unfortunately for Till, he got knocked down by a huge right hand from Woodley and then got submitted via D’arce choke.
It was his first MMA defeat. He then went on to fight Jorge Masvidal before moving to middleweight to fight Kelvin Gastelum and Robert Whittaker.

Following his defeat to Woodley, Till challenged Jorge Masvidal in his hometown of London, England. Sadly, Masvidal humiliated Till by knocking him out cold in the second round. What followed was probably the darkest phase of Darren Till’s life. The Brit vandalized a hotel room and stole a taxi on the Canary Islands.
‘The Gorilla’ has made controversial comments about his family in the past.
Till holds a stellar record of 18-3-1,0NC in his MMA career. He has won two Fight of the Night bonuses with Nicolas Dalby and Jorge Masvidal. Besides that, he won a Performance of the Night Bonus for his fight against Donald Cerrone.
In 2017, Till was named the Breakthrough Fighter of the Year by Pundit Arena.

Till has earned around $913,000 in the UFC so far, according to The Sports Daily. However, this does not include undisclosed bonuses or other sources of income. His middleweight debut against Kelvin Gastelum helped him to bank his biggest paycheck yet. “The Gorilla” earned $245, 000 from that fight at UFC 244.
