Hi, I'm Arpita Shrivastava, a fitness and bodybuilding writer at EssentiallySports. When I started college, my fascination shifted to combat sports and I began training for Judo. I did it for two years until an injury compelled me to step away from the mat. However, my love for sports continued. After venturing into journalism, I read a lot about fitness and wrote stories about dedication and perseverance. After joining ES, my perspective on sports profoundly changed. The first bodybuilder I wrote about was the 'God of Squats' Tom Platz. He didn't win an Olympia title, but his incredible dedication toward his goals and his communication skills left a lasting impression on me. As Platz says. "I don't believe in luck. The love I had for sport continued to follow me into adulthood.
