Denis Shapovalov, the Canadian professional tennis player, has already shown some promising performances on the ATP Tour as a Teen. He has already reached the top-10 of the ATP rankings and is one of the youngest players to reach the top-10 since 2005.

Denis Shapovalov was born in Tel Aviv, Israel. His parents, Tessa and Viktor Shapovalov, moved to Tel Aviv when the Soviet Union was collapsing. His mother played for the Russian national tennis team. Shapovalov made it to the top of the news when he reached the top 30 in a very short time.
On-court Achievements
Denis Shapovalov's breakthrough performance came at the 2017 Canadian Open, where he reached the semifinals as an 18-year-old.
He defeated two grand slam champions, Juan Martin Del Potro and Rafael Nadal in his course to the last four before losing against Alexander Zverev in the semifinals.
Shapovalov also became the youngest player to reach an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 semifinal. He also reached the semifinals at the 2018 Madrid Open.

At the 2017 French Open in May, his first professional Grand Slam, he was defeated in the first round. He reached the 4th round of the 2017 US Open, becoming the youngest player to reach the fourth round since 1989. Shapovalov again reached the semifinals at the Miami Open, before bowing out to Roger Federer in their first singles match.
His best performance came at the Rolex Paris Masters 2019, where he reached the finals but lost to Novak Djokovic in the title match.
In 2019, Shapovalov won the Stockholm Open for his first and only ATP title so far.
Denis Shapovalov's form leading up to the 2021 season
Shapovalov had an impressive 2020 season post the tour's resumption after the pandemic-forced break. The 21-year-old had his best Grand Slam performance, reaching the US Open quarter-finals.
He then made the semi-finals at the Italian Open in Rome, after which he entered the top-10 of the ATP rankings for the first time. Currently, he is ranked no. 12.
