Diego Schwartzman has won three ATP titles in his career. At 5' 7" (170cm), Schwartzman became the shortest grand slam quarter-finalist in the 2017 US Open since Jaime Yzaga (5' 7") at US Open 1994. His best major results came at the French Open 2020, where he reached the semi-finals, and US Open 2017 and 2019, where he reached the quarterfinals.

The Argentine conquered an ATP 250 tournament in Istanbul in 2016. However, the ATP 500 title at the Rio Open in 2018 is by far the biggest title in Schwartzman's career.

The Argentine secured his first win against Rafael Nadal at the Italian Open, that too on clay. He reached the final, which was his maiden Masters 1000 final, and also made two other ATP finals in 2020.

Schwartzman also made the French Open semi-final, losing to Nadal this time. His good season then got better as he made his ATP top-10 debut and his maiden appearance at the ATP Finals.
