Bulgarian player Grigor Dimitrov is the first from his country to be among the top ten players in the world in tennis. He reached a career-high rank of Number 3 in November 2017 and is currently 19th in the rankings.
The Bulgarian is certainly talented and has even defeated three of the Big 4 at least once.
While he hasn’t won any Grand Slam titles, he does have 8 ATP titles under his belt. He has won in Stockholm, Mexico, Romania, Queens Club, Brisbane, Sofia, Cincinnati, and the ATP Finals in the UK.
For the ATP Masters 1000, he defeated Nick Kyrgios to win.
The biggest title of his career is the 2017 ATP World Tour Finals.
His best Grand Slam results are semi-final runs at the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and US Open.
Dimitrov was in a relationship with WTA superstar Maria Sharapova before it ended in 2015. Later, he reportedly started dating celebrity Nicole Scherzinger.
In 2020, Dimitrov made a few semi-finals but was not able to produce consistent runs in big events. He made the Rome quarter-finals and French Open fourth round.
Dimitrov ended the year as the world number 19. He has also contracted the coronavirus midway through the year.

Dimitrov has participated in numerous charity events throughout his career. He has taken part in events in Monte Carlo, Spain, and even a charity event for UNICEF.
He is also a supporter of America for Bulgaria Foundation.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dimitrov also donated ventilators to a hospital in his hometown.
