Jennifer Brady was born as one of the twins to Patrick Brady and Elizabeth Brady in Pennsylvania,USA on April 12, 1995. She started playing tennis at the age of seven and turned professional in 2014.

On-court Achievements

2020 was the breakthrough year for Brady. Not only she won her first title, but she also reached her first Grand Slam semifinal at US Open 2020.

Her only WTA title came at WTA Top Seed Open in 2020. The tournament featured the likes of Serena Williams, Venus Williams, and Coco Gauff.

In 2016, Brady showed signs of strength when she reached the quarterfinals of Guangzhou International Open in singles and doubles. She ended the season ranked 118.

Brady made her Grand Slam main draw debut at the 2017 Australian Open. She reached the fourth round of the ‘happy slam’ and broke into the top 100 of the WTA rankings. With the ranking surge, she participated in various tournaments, including all four Grand Slams.

Brady finished 2017 ranked 64th courtesy of a fourth-round finish at the US Open.

By the end of 2018, Brady’s ranking slumped to 114th, and she failed to qualify for the 2019 Australian Open. But her performances improved in 2019, with a third-round at Dubai Open.

Her biggest result in 2019 was reaching the finals of the WTA 1000 tournament, Indian Wells losing to Ash Barty. She got her first top 20 victory against Madison Keys at Beijing Open. On the doubles side, she had reached the semifinals of the Aussie Open in 2019.

Jennifer Brady’s form going into the 2021 season

With strong performances in 2019, Brady started the 2020 season ranked 55th. At Brisbane International, she beat Maria Sharapova and Ash Barty before losing to Petra Kvitova. Furthermore, she had strong performances and victories over Elina Svitolina and Garbine Muguruza before the coronavirus pandemic break.

Post coronavirus pandemic break, Brady won the Top Seed Open and reached the semifinals of US Open 2020. She finished the year ranked 24th.

She reached the finals of the Australian Open 2021.
