He is the current British, Commonwealth, and European heavyweight champion after his victory over Daniel Dubois.
The 35-year-old’s career has followed a rather unique path in the sport of boxing.

Joyce’s dream was to compete in the Olympics, but not in boxing. The Englishman grew up with the desire to become a track and field star. However, recurrent Achilles' heel injuries prevented him from realizing that dream. At this time, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts.
He made the switch to boxing rather late, as a 22-year-old. As a result, he spent all his 20s fighting in the amateur scene, won many notable accolades, and fought many great fights. His fight against Oleksandr Usyk at the World Series of Boxing is the one that stands out.
He won 2 Bronze medals, 2 Gold medals, and one Silver in his amateur career.
Joyce turned professional at the ripe old age of 31 and signed with Hayemaker Ringstar. He made his debut the same year and even headlined the event.
Joyce has since preserved his unbeaten record, as of November 2020. He has since signed with Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions.

Joyce won the Commonwealth heavyweight title in just his fourth fight. In his seventh bout, he won the WBA Continental heavyweight title.
The Englishman took on his compatriot Daniel Dubois in a highly anticipated fight in 2020. He dismantled the young fighter and put himself in line for a world title.
Thus, 2021 promises to be the biggest year of his career, as he will most certainly get a world title shot.
