Jon Rahm Rodriguez, popularly known as Jon Rahm, is a Spanish professional golfer. After being a lifelong fan of soccer, Rahm's father pushed him towards golf and so he decided to focus on sport from age 14.
Rahm came to the United States later and joined Arizona State University, where he earned a degree in Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. His golf career took off during his time in ASU, and he won multiple championships. In college, he learned English through rap songs and English TV shows.
Rahm idolized compatriot Sergio Garcia while growing up and also the legendary golfer Seve Ballesteros. When he became pro in 2016, he appointed Adam Hayes as his caddie, and the pair are still working together.

After attending the 1997 Ryder Cup where Ballesteros was leading Team Europe, Rahm's parents fell in love with the sport, and encouraged young Jon to also take up the sport. His father, Edorta, is the one who encouraged him to move to USA for golf.
Rahm met his wife, Kelley Cahill, a former javelin thrower, at ASU. The couple tied the knot in Spain in 2019 and have a daughter, Amy. They are now expecting a son next year.

Before he turned professional, Rahm held the #1 ranking in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for a record 60 weeks. He earned that through the success he found at ASU, where he won 11 college golf tournaments. With 16, only Phil Mickelson has won more tournaments in school history.
With wins in 2015 and 2016, Rahm became the first player to be awarded the Ben Hogan Award twice.
After he won the Open de España in October 2019, he became the fastest Spanish player in history to five European titles, beating his heroes Sergio Garcia and Seve Ballesteros.
Despite making his debut in 2016, Rahm has quickly earned 12 professional wins already. His success took him to the #1 ranking, and he became only the second Spanish player behind Ballesteros to achieve this feat.

Rahm is one of the only two golfers to have a deal with German auto manufacturers Mercedes-Benz, a deal he signed back in 2018. After using TaylorMade clubs for years, Rahm made the switch to Callaway earlier this year and signed a multi-year deal.
2021 has been a busy year for him so far, as he also signed a deal with Callaway’s sister brand, TravisMathew. He will don their apparel while playing and will also be using their Cuater footwear.
He is also associated with Blue Yonder, Rolex, and Silverleaf Club.
