Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov discovered his love for tennis at the age of three. He even admires the likes of compatriot, Marat Safin, and even Argentine player, Juan Martin del Potro.
He started his professional career in 2013 and made his Davis Cup debut in the same year. His big break came in 2015 when he clinched his maiden Challenger title in Istanbul.
In 2016, Karen Khachanov seized his maiden ATP title at the ATP Valencia Open 500, defeating Albert Ramos-Vinolas.
His best finish in a Grand Slam is when he reached the quarterfinals of the French Open 2019. With regard to the other slams, he has only reached as far as the third round at the Australian Open and the US Open, and the 4th round at Wimbledon.
Karen Khachanov has four career ATP titles to his credit, namely Chengdu in 2016, the Open 13 in 2018, the Kremlin Cup, and the Paris Masters, also in 2018.
The biggest title of his career is the 2018 Paris Masters, which is an ATP Masters 1000 title.
He has also bagged the silver medal in the Nanjing Youth Olympics in 2014. Also working in his favor is the fact that he has even beaten Novak Djokovic, at the 2018 Paris Masters.
Khachanov had an up and down 2020 season, which started with a good performance at the ATP Cup with Team Russia.
At the US Open, he won a match coming back from two sets down but lost in the third round to Alex de Minaur.
Khachanov is ranked no. 20 in the ATP rankings.
The Russian has earned $8,920,658 so far in career prize-money.
In terms of sponsorship and endorsements, Khachanov has deals with Rolex, Nike, Head, and Mercedes, among others.
Back in January 2018, Karen Khachanov raised funds for the Monaco Red Cross at the Monte Carlo Masters 2019. He partnered with the likes of Dominic Thiem, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Stan Wawrinka, Lucas Pouille, David Goffin and Daniil Medvedev. Sadly, Khachanov’s team, led by Thiem, lost to the other team, led by Wawrinka.
