Lee started his UFC career with a loss against Al Iaquinta at UFC 169. He then went on to defeat fighters like Jon Tuck and Jake Matthews to name a few. Kevin Lee encountered turbulence in his career after he lost an interim lightweight championship bout against Tony Ferguson.

Although he won the next fight against Edson Barboza, he lost against Al Iaquinta for the second time. Many speculated that this was mainly because Lee did not have a head coach.

Despite losing, Lee took matters into his own hands and moved up a weight class. Lee had trouble making lightweight as he is too big for the division. He was one among many to pressurize the UFC to create a 165 lbs division. However, that did not happen.

Lee took on Rafael dos Anjos in a welterweight scrap. He found success early on, but got submitted in the fourth round. Things seemed bleak for 'The Motown Phenom'. However, on the advice of Joe Rogan, Lee joined the Tristar Gym under a new head coach, Firas Zahabi. The result was a beautiful head kick knockout of Gregor Gillespie at UFC 244.

Lee lost to Charles Oliveira at UFC: Brasilia. As of now, he has taken a break from MMA and vows to return stronger than before.

'The Motown Phenom' has an 11-6 record in the UFC.

Kevin Lee: Fighting Style

Lee is an elite wrestler. However, his striking is not bad either, and he can out-strike many top-ranked contenders in the UFC. His greatest weakness is his cardio, as he cannot keep up his pace for a long time. Eventually, his cardio declines and he becomes an easy target for his opponent.

Kevin Lee: Achievements

Lee holds a proud record of 18-6-0,0NC in his MMA career. He was Total Warrior Combat's lightweight champion. Although he is yet to capture the UFC gold, Lee has won 3 performance of the night bonuses in the UFC against Magomed Mustafaev, Michael Chiesa, and Gregor Gillespie.

Kevin Lee: Net Worth and Salary 2021

Lee did not cross the $100k mark until his fight with Michael Chiesa. He made around $149,000 for his victory against Chiesa. As of now, Lee's highest payday came through his interim title fight against Tony Ferguson ($280,000), followed by his recent knockout of Gillespie ($233,000).

Kevin Lee has earned over $1,536,300 in his UFC career according to The Sports Daily. These numbers do not include undisclosed bonuses.
