Luke Campbell is a British professional boxer from East Yorkshire. He fights in the lightweight division and has become one of the best lightweights in the world. Campbell is the most decorated British Amateur boxer.

As a professional, he has held regional titles like the WBC International lightweight title, WBC Silver title, and British Commonwealth title. He currently ranks #5 on The Ring,#5 on TBRB, while ranking #8 on the WBC rankings. He goes by the nickname 'Cool Hand'.

Campbell took up the sport at an early age, working hard at the St. Paul?s Amateur Boxing Club. He won his first title in 2007 when he became ABA champion.

In the following year, Campbell went one better; not only defending his ABA title but also won European championship gold. This was the first time since 1961 that a British fighter had won the prestigious title.

However, it did not stop there for the talented Brit. In 2012 he reached the pinnacle of the Amateur game when he won the 2012 Olympic gold medal in the bantamweight division. For his Olympic Gold medal, Campbell was awarded an MBE from the queen in 2012.

Campbell turned professional in 2013, signing with Matchroom Boxing. He took on Andy Harris in his debut and knocked him out in 88 seconds. Since then, Campbell has been on a steady rise to the top.

He won his first regional title in 2015 when he stopped Tommy Coyle to win the WBC International title. He then added the British Commonwealth title and the WBC Silver lightweight titles to his name in 2016. However, the world title still eludes him.

Out of his 4 defeats, 3 have come against top-quality opposition in the form of Vasyl Lomachenko, Ryan Garcia, and Jorge Linares. And only one of those was by knockout. This showed the mettle of the tough Yorkshire-man.

January 2021 marked the toughest fight of Campbell's career. He came up against hard-hitting Ryan Garcia. Despite a bright start, Campbell was knocked out in the 7th round. This left the Brit at a crossroads in 2021.

The successful boxer has his own foundation called, Luke Campbell Foundation. It was set up to provide underprivileged children with the opportunity to train and follow their dreams.

In 2015 Campbell teamed up with Hull College and set up a boxing academy that will help kids specialize in boxing as part of their curriculum.
