Tom Budgen is one of the most popular faces to be a part of professional wrestling. Currently, the 36-year-old superstar is a part of AEW where he competes under the ring name Malakai Black.

Formerly known as Aleister Black in WWE, he has been a professional wrestler for almost 2 decades and has been a part of various promotions across the globe. He was most notably a part of Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW), Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw), and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

Malakai Black: WWE 

When he was a part of WWE, Budgen performed under the ring name Aleister Black. Having already been a well-known name in the independent circuit, Black signed with WWE back in 2016. 

Budgen made his in-ring debut on 7 January 2017, under the name Aleister Black. However, he made his televised in-ring debut on April 1, 2017, as he faced Andrade Almas at the NXT TakeOver Orlando event. Black had a great run in NXT and he eventually defeated Almas to win the NXT Championship.

The Dutch superstar made his RAW debut in 2019, as he defeated Elias on the February 18, 2019, show. Black had a good run in WWE and along with Ricochet even competed in a fatal four-fay match at WrestleMania 35 for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. 

During his time in the WWE, Aleister Black's entrance was something that stood out and the Aleister Black theme song - 'Root of All Evil' made it more special.

Black had an incredible run with WWE as he faced and defeated superstars like Bobby Lashley and AJ Styles. However, his journey with WWE ended recently as he was released by the company on June 2, 2021.

The fighter later took to twitch to reveal how the alleged reason behind his release was budget cuts. However, Black shares a great relationship with Vince McMahon and hopes to one day return to WWE. 

Malakai Black: Personal Life

Tom Budgen was born on 19 May 1985, in Alkmaar, Netherlands. Growing up, Budgen had a tough life as his family was not very well to do. Reportedly, Budgen had once revealed how his father’s religion influenced his in-ring persona.

Aleister Black's wife is Thea Megan Trinidad aka Zelina Vega, the pair got married on 23 November 2018. While much is not known about Black's personal life, whenever anyone sees Black, one thing stands out, i.e. Aleister Black's tattoos. The fighter has 54 tattoos and all of them hold personal meaning to him.

Malakai Black: WWE debut

Black made his official RAW debut on February 18, 2019. The talented superstar faced Elias in that match and performed admirably to defeat his opponent. However, this was not Aleister Black’s first appearance in WWE, as he had earlier performed in the NXT brand.

The fighter first appeared as Tommy End at the United Kingdom Championship Tournament finals, where he faced and lost to Neville.
