Melvin Gordon is a 27-year-old NFL running back. He was born on the 13th of April 1993 and played college football in his home state for the Wisconsin Badgers. Whilst with the Badgers, in his final season, he came agonizingly close to claiming the NCAA Division FBS rushing yards record. 

Later, Melvin Gordon declared for the 2015 NFL draft and went at 15th overall to the San Diego Chargers. Upon his arrival, the rookie was handed the No.28 jersey and secured the starting running back role with the team. He held onto it for the entirety of his time with the San Diego-based franchise.

Besides this, the ‘Beyond The Flash Foundation’ aimed to provide underprivileged youth with opportunities in the educational sphere.  

In 2018, the ex-Los Angeles Chargers running back got named as the NFLPA Community MVP for the 1st week of the season. The honor recognizes an NFL player who has made a positive impact in the community. Furthermore, the NFLPA donates $10,000 to the charity of the player's choosing.

Melvin Gordon earned this recognition for participating in a meal packing program in Los Angeles. These food packets helped feed children, the elderly, and veterans. 

In addition, Gordon took part in the Pledge It challenge which allows athletes to generate funds for a cause. As part of the initiative, donors get to pledge for a talent of the athlete’s choosing with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.

Gordon's family owns a restaurant 'Sports Bar & Grill'. However, as per the Kenosha News, the running back isn't part of the culinary venture.
