Chandler made his octagon debut against Dan Hooker at UFC 257. He started his UFC career with a spectacular first-round T/KO victory.

He clashed against Charles Oliveira for the then-vacant UFC lightweight title at UFC 262. However, Chandler failed to become a UFC champion as he lost against Oliveira via a second-round T/KO.

His bout against Patricky Freire is one of the best fights of his career. He won the Bellator Season 4 Lightweight Tournament after defeating him via unanimous decision.
