Tate's first bout under the UFC banner was against Cat Zingano at The Ultimate Fighter 17: Team Jones vs Team Sonnen Finale on April 13, 2013, where she lost via a third-round T/KO. Then her UFC losing streak extended to two, as she lost her second bout in a rematch against Ronda Rousey at UFC 168. 

However, 'Cupcake' immediately turned her two-fight skid and claimed five consecutive victories. At UFC 196, Tate defeated Holly Holm via a fifth-round submission and became the UFC bantamweight champion. In her run, she beat several elite athletes such as Jessica Eye, Sara McMann, and more.

In her last bout against Raquel Pennington at UFC 205, Tate suffered a unanimous decision loss and announced her retirement in 2016. 

Now, after a long layoff of 4 years and 8 months, 'Cupcake' will step inside the octagon against Marion Reneau at UFC Fight Night: Makhachev vs. Moises on July 17, 2021. 'Cupcake' holds a UFC record of 5-4.

Miesha Tate: Fighting Style

Tate is one of the best defensive fighters in the UFC, having a 50% significant strike defense and 52% takedown defense. Moreover, she is a good submission grappler as 'Cupcake' uses her wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills to make her opponents tap. Tate has claimed 7 submissions as a professional fighter. She can put up a great fight against her opponents and go the distance if needed.

Tate has a spectacular professional MMA record of 18-7-0 (3 T/KO and 7 Submissions), and as aforementioned, she is a former UFC bantamweight champion. Miesha Tate has claimed two 'Fight of the Night' bonuses and one 'Performance of the Night' bonus in her UFC career. 

Furthermore, 'Cupcake' is also the former FCF and Strikeforce women's bantamweight champion. As far as her achievements go, Tate also had a lot of success outside of her MMA career in wrestling and grappling.

She is the 2009 World Team Trials Silver Medalist and the 2005 women's high school Washington state wrestling champion. And in her grappling career, 'Cupcake' is the 2008 Fila Worlds Grappling Championships Silver Medalist and 2008 World Team Trials National Grappling Champion. 

Moreover, she is a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. These are just a few out of her several achievements.

As of July 2021, Tate has a net worth of $6 Million, according to the Celebrity Net Worth. In her UFC and Strikeforce career, she has earned $1,321,500.

As per The Sports Daily, she earned a whopping $103,000 from her fight against Ronda Rousey in 2013. In her title fight against Holly Holm, Tate made $172,000. Tate's biggest paycheck came from her fight against Amanda Nunes at UFC 200 in 2016, where she earned a large sum of $540,000.
