Nigel Mansell’s Net Worth, Salary and Endorsements
Nigel Mansell has the honour of being the only driver to hold a CART title and an F1 title simultaneously. During the era of Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna, Nelson Piquet and others, Mansell was Britain’s favourite. He made his Formula One debut in 1980 for Lotus but appeared in only two races out of 3 as he failed to qualify in the last one.
A year later, he managed to reach the podium in Belgium. The Briton secured four more podiums for the outfit until 1983. In the following year, he joined Williams and raced with them for four years. During his tenure with them, he sealed his maiden win at the European GP at Brands Hatch.
He amassed 13 wins for Williams but never quite clinched the championship. The closest he got was 2nd in 1986 and 1987. Seeking greener pastures, he figured that Ferrari could be the missing link. Sadly for him, it was not to be as he was in the top 5 during the two years that he was with the Italian marquee.
He decided to go back to Williams, now with Renault engines, as opposed to Honda. In his second season, more precisely in 1992, he finally won that elusive championship. Mansell took the last of his 31 wins at the 1994 Australian Grand Prix, the season finale.
