His parents often participate in bike riding games, and his mother has also won a 24-hour mountain bike race as part of a five-woman team. His father was a motocross racer who took his son with him often. And finally, his sister was also a golf player back in college. His middle name comes from his maternal grandfather, who is of Japanese ethnicity.
