Ash-Shakur Nafi-Shahid Stevenson or as he’s better known, Shakur Stevenson is a 23-year-old American professional boxer. He is a former WBO featherweight champion and is ranked #1 on WBO and #2 WBC super featherweight rankings.

Stevenson is also a former U.S. Olympian and Silver medalist. He goes by the nickname ‘Fearless’.

His boxing career began at the early age of 5 under the tutelage of his grandfather. Stevenson is the oldest of 9 siblings and the only boxer in the household. He has had over 140 amateur fights and only 13 losses.

In that time, in the amateur scene, Shakur Stevenson won a plethora of titles. He won gold at the 2013 Uman Liberation Junior Tournament, while also securing gold in the World Junior Championships in Ukraine.

In 2014, he won gold in the Youth World Championships, gold in the Ringside World tournament, and gold in the Youth Olympic Games.

In 2015, Stevenson won the U.S. Youth National championships. A year later, he won the U.S. Olympic Qualifiers and represented his country at the Olympics. He won the Silver medal in Rio.

His professional career started in 2017 when he signed with Top Rank. The ‘Fearless’ has since gone on to have 15 professional fights. In that time has won one world title. This title victory came in 2019 when he became WBO featherweight champion of the world.

2021 promises to be the year when Stevenson puts the world on notice. He has promised to become a super featherweight champion and has even teased a move to lightweight.

Stevenson’s stats stand at an impeccable 15-0 with 8 of those coming by way of knockout. This gives the young fighter a 53.33% knockout rate. His debut came in 2016 against Edgar Brito, and he has not looked back since.

His most memorable fight, other than his Olympic final, was his first world title fight against Joet Gonzalez. In his last fight, he beat Toka Kahn Clary.

The undefeated fighter has also had other famous fights like his victories over Viorel Simion and Christopher Diaz.

Despite only being 23-years-old, 'Fearless' has done his fair share of charity. He set up Stevenson & Moses Boxing for Life along with Hall of fame boxing coach Wali Moses.

The aim of the organization is to promote boxing as a tool of discipline among kids of the area. He was even part of the opening event in which fans could get to have a conversation with Stevenson.

Shakur Stevenson is also regularly seen giving food and supplies to the people, as he believes they make him who he is.

According to Sportekz.com, Stevenson is worth around $970,000. He earns his money primarily through boxing.

In his last fight against Felix Caraballo, he earned a reported $450,000. Other earnings include $150,000 for his title fight against Joet Gonzalez.
